La caída./ The fall.

A pesar de que ya estaba despierto, decidió quedarse en la cama por unos minutos más. La lámpara de la mesa de noche del lado derecho de su cama se encontraba prendida y le daba un poco de luz al cuarto. Miraba las sombras de los muebles en el techo mientras una araña bajaba lentamente desde la lámpara. Eran apenas la cinco y treinta de la madrugada y la noche todavía estaba presente. No paraba de pensar como el vértigo le invadió mientras dormía y despertaba abruptamente sudando sobre la almohada. Para él fue como una eternidad cuando en realidad fueron sólo unos segundos. Fue como hacerse invisible y permitir que su peso atravesara todo lo que encontraba, para luego regresar desde arriba hasta el mismo lugar en donde empezó. Narraba con detalles la experiencia mientras en el otro lado de la línea su mujer esperaba ansiosamente por más detalles. Sentí que caída, explicaba, sentí que volaba, reiteraba. Por suerte ya terminó, se despidió y concluyó con un sutil adiós.

It was only half an hour past five in the morning as the night smoothly moved towards an end, to face the alba of a new day. He could not stop thinking how panicking he was after waking up abruptly sweating over his pillow. It was like an eternity for him when in reality it was only a few seconds trip. It was like disappearing and going through everything he found on his way without stopping. This until coming back from the top again landing where it all started, his bed. He thoroughly discussed the incident over the phone with his wife while she anxiously waited for further details. I felt I fall, he explained, I felt I was flying, he sustained. Luckily it had finished, he concluded with a soft goodbye before hanging up.
